Answer by waiting on my miracle baby #1 if you got pregnant during your period (which isn’t likely because most people ovulate after their period is over unless you bleed for a loooong time)…you wouldn’t know if you are pregnant until you miss your next period…or maybe a couple days before that

Well LONG story short….my girlfriend well ex cuz i made her mad and she left me….is about 15 weeks pregnant now and she cant stand me. We were a serious couple with talks of even getting married. Before the pregnancy she was the type to get mad and get irrational but be able to calm herself down in about 10 minutes. It seems like now she gets set off and she cannot bring herself back down. She is convinced that i dont love her, care about her and only think i want to be with her because shes pregnant. I havent spoken to her in about a week and a half now and its starting to break me down a little bit. People have said that she will start to calm down in the 2nd trimester but so far it seems nothing is changing. So my question is is it possible that this could go on during the entire pregnancy? Or am i really losing the love of my life : (

Question by Grace: How are the pregnancy weeks counted for a women with a longer cycle?
I know they count the weeks of pregnancy by the date of the last period. So if the last period was on Dec. 1st for example, Jan 1st would be sometime around week 4.
But what about those with longer cycles? With cycles that are 50 days long for example. So if two women have their period on Dec. 1st, one with a regular cycle and the other with a longer cycle, I believe that they didn’t conceive on the same day.
Am I right? Please explain.

Answer by Rocker Wife Yes, you are right. They go by the last date of your period at first. Eventually, an ultrasound will be done to confirm the fetal age and approximate date of conception. From there, you will be given your new due date.

I had always heard that pregnancy in women over 40 increases risk of birth defects and disorders such as down syndrome. But, I am curious if this is valid now considering that medical care is much better than it was in the past. Also, I see many women age 45 and older who are conceiving and seem to do just fine.
