Answer by ny
When you are losing weight, you should exercise and diet together.
If you exercise without dieting, you will get bigger appetite, which
will lead to increase of weight, or muscle grow
underneath the fat layer, and make you bulkier. If you diet without
exercising, you will become flabby and will have excess skin. For
diet, go wheat free. No pasta, pizza, bread and so on. And no food
after 7 p.m. People achieve marvellous results with it. Depending on
your initial weight, you can drop upwards from 20 pounds a month. If
you don’t eat wheat then you don’t eat all those sticky, fatty goey
cakes, you don’t eat junk food, and you don’t eat biscuits. But your
diet is still balanced. It costs nothing, and you do not have to
calculate points or to buy special meals or plans. For exercising,
start with walking, and then switch to running/jogging. Running is the
most efficient and calorie-burn exercise ever. If you are overweight a
lot, walk first or you may have health complications (heart attack,
disjointed bones and so on). Weight lifting is a good means to target
your problem areas for men and women. It’s not necessarily to become a
bodybuilder or even join a gym – a couple of dumbbells will help you
to target your problem areas (stomach, butt, legs, arms, chest).

How much weight gain is acceptable during pregnancy?

Question by Regular John: How much weight gain is acceptable during pregnancy?
I need to keep my wife walking on egg shells with this issue. I know some women gain weight during pregnancy but i need to minimize this. Can you all tell me how much weight she should be gaining. I will take whatever number you give and subtract five pounds from it, that will be her target weight. If she goes above that i am gone. I don not want her having loose skin, stretchmarks, or saggy breasts when this terrible time is over.

How do people lose weight after pregnancy?

Question by : How do people lose weight after pregnancy?
I see how some people are very skinny after giving birth & how others gain a lot more weight. There are women that I see who are skinny before pregnancy & gain weight & can’t keep it off, & there are other women who are obese before pregnancy & lose a whole bunch of weight after having a baby, but they don’t even eat right or exercise. It just comes off naturally. Also, what is Lamaze? Is it yoga for pregnancy to teach people how to breathe correctly before having a baby for when they do have a baby?

What is the least amount of weight I can safely gain during a pregnancy?

Question by : What is the least amount of weight I can safely gain during a pregnancy?
I am thinking about becoming pregnant next year and would like to run as far into my pregnancy as I can, so the lighter the better. If I weigh 120 pounds (I am 5’7″) how much will I need to gain during the pregnancy. Thanks for the help.

-I would also love to hear from women who ran or worked out a lot during a pregnancy.

Best answer:

Answer by Kitty Cat
I was army active duty and i ran my fanny off. You may get out of balance or dizzy but there are many types of vigorous excercizes you can safely do while pregnant. I was 125lbs and 4’11″ i was all muscles due to push up sit ups running etc. I know most army girls are pretty girly but i could do 50 pushups in 50 seconds that was cake. I gained 3lbs but after i had her i droped from a size 3 to a size 0 in less than a week. I was 105-110lbs and i’ve maintained that weight until my current pregnancy. A few things you might need to understand know your pregnancy’s limits your internal temp should stay under 102% and if it does go higher should not stay hogh for more than 10 minutes. Also every pregnancy is different you may have a complicated pregnancy my mom was paralyzed while carryng me when she could walk (i was on her spine) she couldn’t take 3 step without going into early labor. So be prepared and keep ypur doctor posted many women do jog well into their pregnancies but even in a normal pregnancy you need

How did you lose weight after pregnancy?

Question by ~Love my kids~: How did you lose weight after pregnancy?
I am exercising and eating better (water, salads etc..) but I am actually gaining weight now! (like a pound every 2 weeks!) I am 7 lbs over my pre-pregnancy weight and used to always be petite. Did anyone do something special to lose weight? (other than breastfeeding) Is this normal because it has only been 2 months since I had my son? Any similiar experiences?

Best answer:

Answer by shelbyxmadison
yes i walked and watched what i ate and i gained weight.
drink water because it helps your liver ‘pick out’ fat particles so they leave your body. i lost a lot of weight by doing the exercises with baby in my arms so it added more weight to my legs or tumyy

What is the normal weight to gain during pregnancy?

Question by helpful one: What is the normal weight to gain during pregnancy?
I am 5 months and have gained three pounds. I have friends who have gained 10 pounds throughout their pregnancy and even a very heavy-set friend who said she gained only 1 pound. Is that even possible? I know every pregnancy is different but would still appreciate answers.

Best answer:

Answer by Jessica
It all depends on how much you weighed before you got pregnant. If you were underweight then you need to gain more. If you are overweight then you shoudn’t gain too much. Normal weight-somewhere around 25 lbs. But I went a little crazy with the whole eating for two thing and I gained too much weight. Just watch what you eat and don’t eat junk food. Its not healthy for you or your baby.

How to go threw pregnancy without gaining tons of weight?

Question by Christy R: How to go threw pregnancy without gaining tons of weight?
I’m going threw my second pregnancy. With my first pregnancy I gained so much weight. Way over the reconmended weight that women should gain during pregnancy. Eventhough, the weight came off pretty fast after the birth. I have heard that it is harder to lose the weight the second time around. I want to try and maintain a healthy pregnancy weight. Any suggestions to help?

Best answer:

Answer by ulikey21
Eat as healthy as you can, and walk daily. That’s really all you can do.

Most pregnant women only need 300 extra calories a day! So you really do not need to eat much more than you did before pregnancy.

How much weight should I lose for a safe no-risk pregnancy?

Question by bsmc19888: How much weight should I lose for a safe no-risk pregnancy?
So I am 5’6″ and 20 years old. I weigh about 245 pounds and have actually lost about 15 pounds this last month. I want to get pregnant but I don’t want to have a high-risk pregnancy because of my weight. I also have PCOS which puts me on a higher risk for diabetes and a high-risk pregnancy. The last thing I want to do is put a baby at risk.
So how much weight should I lose before I should start trying to get pregnant?

Question by KMORRIS3202: what is the best diet and excercise program that would work for post pregnancy weight?
i had my baby 8 months ago and i can not lose all the weight, normally im about 120 and no matter what i do the weight in my butt, thighs, and stomach will not come off.can anyone give me a good diet and a good excercise program?thanks

Best answer:

Answer by froggyinpants
I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but there’s a chance that you will have SOME of that weight forever… maybe not, but maybe.

In my opinion, don’t use diets where you “count points”. They tend to stress, distract and make you cheat on your diet. Start off taking baby for walks/jogs in the stoller. I DO recommend pilates. Good luck!

Any diet secrets for getting rid of pregnancy weight?

Besides Breast feeding please! And yes I do plan on breast feeding, but is there anything else that seemed to really help with shedding the pounds after baby was born.

Best answer:

Eat healthy and exercise. There’s no such thing as a diet secret, if there were nobody would be fat. Eat right, exercise and breastfeed, that’s the only way to shed extra weight.

I eat healthy – no sweets, fast food etc.

Best answer:

Answer by bubblies
just play with your baby, like you can use it (him/her) as a type of weigh and lay on your back and lift (him/her) up many times, or just chasing them around the house once they start crawling, go see a doctor maybe you can get into a physical therapy class to help with your leg.

Q&A: Can I diet and exersize to stay the same weight throughout my pregnancy?

Question by jaccideboss: Can I diet and exersize to stay the same weight throughout my pregnancy?
Ok, first off, I’m 26 years old and I’m a little over 50 pounds overweight. I have gained all my weight from my previous 2 pregnancies, and I’m bound and determined to lose this weight. However, I am in my second trimester of my third pregnancy. My question is, is it ok to diet and stay the SAME weight throughout my entire pregnancy (though healthy eating and exersizing… i’m aware that I have to eat 300 calories more for the baby.) to lose weight so I’m 20 pounds lighter after the baby ??? Is this even possible to do and still remain healthy? Thanks!

~~Please refrain from being rude ~~

What type of diet should I go on to lose my post pregnancy weight gain i need to only lose 15 pounds?

Question by LILY: What type of diet should I go on to lose my post pregnancy weight gain i need to only lose 15 pounds?
I want to know what type of diet and physical activity training I should do. I am preparing to run at 5:00 a.m every morning and run 2 miles. So any trainers out there. Please answer.

Best answer:

Answer by telakenisis
I recommend you consult with a dietician or nutritionist that would be best. But if you can’t afford to do that go with a 2000 cal diet with 45% of those cal coming from carbs 35% protien and the rest from fat. Get you carbs from fruits and veggies … not breads pasta and the like. Best protien comes from chicken fish and eggs … fats from nuts.

As for exercise … you need to burn 300 – 500 cal. five times a week. What form of exercise you chose to accomplish this doesn’t matter.

Is the weight gain mostly your diet or the pregnancy itself?

Question by annn: Is the weight gain mostly your diet or the pregnancy itself?
Minus the weight of the growing baby, is the weight that women gain during pregnancy because your body hangs on to extra calories regardless of what you do or eat? Or is it that women just eat more when they’re pregnant? Or is it a bit of both? I guess I’m just wondering if you have any control at all.

Best answer:

Answer by Stephanie A
Mine was a little of both and water weight.

Q&A: Any diet that can prevent excessive weight gain during pregnancy?

Question by 結縁 Heemei: Any diet that can prevent excessive weight gain during pregnancy?
I just found out I’m pregnant with my second child today, I retained so much weight during my first pregnancy . From a size 0 to a size 6, I gained 40 lbs, the actual baby weights about 6lb, is there a certain diet and exercise I should follow this time?

Best answer:

Answer by deSade
That depends on what you crave. If your cravings were ice cream, sweets, chocolate, etc, then you should just avoid those things. Otherwise, the reason you gain weight is to prepare for childbirth and provide your baby with the nutrients they need. You shouldn’t diet or exercise TOO much. You should eat plenty of food and exercise to your limit! Dieting while pregnant is not a good idea.

Question by ♥Lucky♥: Weight loss diet during pregnancy – please read details?
Though it is not conventional, my obstetrician put me on diabetic diet for this pregnancy. I am insulin resistent and overweight, and my doctor wants to prevent gestational diabetes. She said it is safe for me to lose weight for the entire pregnancy.

Has anyone experience with losing weight during pregnancy? How much did you lose? What did you eat? Thank you.

Best answer:

Answer by sherri r
i was put on the same “diet” with my second pregnancy. i really didn’t lose weight. but after the baby was born i was told i could eat the same way and i did lose weight. i lost about 30 pounds after my second. i saw a regs. dietitian and she helped with the meal plans. i ate string cheese, 1/2 cup of fruit at a time, peanut butter and sug free jelly, lean meats, loads of veggies, whole grain bread (1 piece at a time). 1 packet of oatmeal, 6 almonds, 2 eggs and a 8 oz glass of milk for breakfast. is an example of a breakfast. good luck
