giving birth naturally – no pain medication Baby born at 9:52pm on Tuesday July 27th, 2010. 7 lbs. 13 oz. baby boy. 38 weeks pregnant (previous pregnancies were 3-5 days late so labor and delivery unexpected 2 weeks early) Prayers for our baby boy are welcome as he recovers from some health challenges (related to his kidneys). Baby was able to come home from hospital NICU 3 weeks after birth. I planned non medicated birth @ hospital w/ midwife because I’m VBAC (vaginal birth after cesarian section) so higher risks. Our newborn son needed medical intervention immediately after birth. This was a “dry childbirth” (no amniotic fluid), and baby’s abdomen was larger than his head! So yes it hurt. LORD thank you for a healthy beautiful baby and safe delivery for my wife. August represents the number 8 which is new beginnings and the number 7 is completion. For my God is bringing new beginnings in our household and every blessing will be complete. Our baby girl, Layna Jeslyn Harris was born on Monday August 7th, 2006 at 9:51am. She is 7 Ibs & 3 oz. She has my wife’s beautiful deep brown eyes and her beauty shines so clear. Our oldest daugther LaNise (16) and LaNere (13), has been a tremendous help throughout the pregnancy. Kids I love you so dearly. To Doctors Shawn Davies, Michael Colgroves, your comforting words through out our Doctor’s visit were very comforting and thank your for an outstanding team work during our delivery, Doctor Sara Verghese, thank you for welcoming our new baby, and to the nurses, & receptionists of Rush University Medical Center of Chicago, IL; the hospitality we’ve received was indeed pleasant & heartfelt! Ever since my 22 week ultrasound, my baby’s been in head down, face back position. But around 34 weeks, things felt different. There was a hard mass – his head? – beneath my lungs and it was difficult to breathe. My next midwife visit confirmed it: My baby was breech. Noooooooo! I was devastated. I want so badly to have a natural birth, and breech position pretty much guarantees a C-section. But, right then and there, my midwife was able to turn the baby! Pretty amazing.
