It’s official, pre-pregnancy clothes no longer fit. When did you turn to maternity wear?

Question by ♥New Mommy♥: It’s official, pre-pregnancy clothes no longer fit. When did you turn to maternity wear?
I am 13 weeks. Last week these pants fit fine. This morning I couldn’t even zip them up! Good thing I just got my bella bands in the mail yesterday so I am still able to wear the pants.

When did you start wearing maternity clothes?
I have a few maternity bottoms that my mom got me but they are waaaay too big for me and I can’t wear them now. I did go out this weekend and buy a few work slacks with elastic waists. But I ordered (and just received) my bella bands and they are awesome! I can wear all my pre-pregnancy jeans unzipped and unbuttoned and the bands keep them up and cover up the zipper area. It’s great.

Q&A: What kind of clothes do you wear after pregnancy?

Question by Sasha: What kind of clothes do you wear after pregnancy?
After you give birth, are you just bigger/fatter in the mid-section? Should I plan on buying larger sized clothes for after the birth or do you just keep wearing your maternity clothes? How long has it taken most of you to get back to pre-baby size?

Best answer:

Answer by gifty2
My understanding is that most women look about 5 months pregnant after delivering. Wearing your maternity clothes or some very loose regular clothing is probably best.

When in pregnancy should I wear maternity clothes?

Question by Pregnant with baby #1: When in pregnancy should I wear maternity clothes?
I’m still in my first trimester, but my clothes are already feeling tight! Its hard to fit comfortably in my jeans and I don’t want to (nor can I), wear sweat pants everyday. Should I just buy some regular clothes in bigger sizes? What do I do when those don’t fit though? Please give me some advice.

Best answer:

Answer by Verree
You wear them when they make you more comfortable than your normal clothes. There are no guidelines every woman is different.

Did you wear tight or loose clothes during pregnancy?

Question by 90210: Did you wear tight or loose clothes during pregnancy?
So I’m 16 weeks and starting to show a significant baby bump and I can’t decide if I should wear tight or loose tops. I can still fit my size 1/2 jeans but I don’t know if I should show off my bump with a tight top or wear a loose flowy top that kind of hides my bump, but makes it still visible. What did you ladies wear when you started to show?

Best answer:

Answer by MMG
I like showing off my preggo belly. 1st pregnancy and pround of it!! ;)

Were you able to wear your pre-pregnancy clothes again after giving birth?

Question by byron: Were you able to wear your pre-pregnancy clothes again after giving birth?
Of course, I mean after a reasonable amount of time was allowed to lose weight…

DH and I are starting IVF soon… of course, there’s the risk of twins, and I’m spazzing ahead of time about money. It would be nice if I didn’t have to buy an entirely new wardrobe…

Also, I’m just worrying about everything these days!

Best answer:

Answer by ஐ♥Julian’sMommy♥ஐ
I did not have to buy no maternity clothes at all…I wore my own clothes the entire time and afterwards. I only gained 11 pounds and yes my son was very healthy……I did not show at all….

Will my pre-pregnancy clothes stretch out if I wear them while pregnant?

Question by Alysha: Will my pre-pregnancy clothes stretch out if I wear them while pregnant?
I am someone who likes to wear brands like Abercrombie and Fitch, Hollister, American Eagle, Buckle, ect. But am scared that they might stretch out and not fit the same ever again. Please help, I dont want to ruin my clothes by stretching them out.

Best answer:

Answer by Danielle
It depends how big your belly gets while pregnant, but most of my non-maternity clothes stretched when I was pregnant. I found that popping them into the dryer put them back into shape, but they were never back to how they started.

Pumpkin Patch have some pretty nice, fashionable maternity clothes

Just some alternatives to buying expensive maternity clothes, that you may or may not ever wear again. I am 36 weeks pregnant here, so it looks like I escaped having to buy any, yay! :) Make sure your pants are a snug enough, so that they dont fall down. Leave fastener open, and make a V shaped space by folding inward. Then cover with your shirt. Please leave a comment if you have any ideas to share! My Blog: pachaafterdark.blogspot.com
