What are some maternity clothes/items that you absolutely could not live without during your pregnancy?

Question by sarn: What are some maternity clothes/items that you absolutely could not live without during your pregnancy?

Best answer:

Answer by Cherilyn
Yoga pants were an absolute lifesaver for me. The regular maternity pants just would not stay up where they were supposed to! Also, cotton bras without an underwire. Comfort is everything as far as I’m concerned, especially as you get farther along because you will have enough things making you uncomfortable, you clothes shouldn’t be one of them.

It’s official, pre-pregnancy clothes no longer fit. When did you turn to maternity wear?

Question by ♥New Mommy♥: It’s official, pre-pregnancy clothes no longer fit. When did you turn to maternity wear?
I am 13 weeks. Last week these pants fit fine. This morning I couldn’t even zip them up! Good thing I just got my bella bands in the mail yesterday so I am still able to wear the pants.

When did you start wearing maternity clothes?
I have a few maternity bottoms that my mom got me but they are waaaay too big for me and I can’t wear them now. I did go out this weekend and buy a few work slacks with elastic waists. But I ordered (and just received) my bella bands and they are awesome! I can wear all my pre-pregnancy jeans unzipped and unbuttoned and the bands keep them up and cover up the zipper area. It’s great.

I think it was around 12 weeks.

Maternity clothes that don’t look like maternity clothes? Hiding my early pregnancy?

Question by : Maternity clothes that don’t look like maternity clothes? Hiding my early pregnancy?
Hi,
I am not telling anyone I am pregnant until 3 months. I need to buy more clothes for fall and winter right now but I need them to work for when I show as well. Please tell me where I can find clothes that you cannot tell are maternity but that will serve their purpose when I am showing and after I have told people.

Thank you so much!

Best answer:

Answer by Daniel’s Mum~Due 03/23/10
You likely won’t start showing until you are 4-5 months…normally that is when women start. You might just need to buy a pair of jeans that are just one size bigger until then.

I’m in Canada, and I shop at motherhoodmaternity.ca I don’t know where you live, but have a look anyway.

When did you start wearing your maternity clothes?

Question by Due 12/15: When did you start wearing your maternity clothes?
I feel odd wearing my maternity clothes already because I’m only 9 wks but regular pants mess with my stomach and my regular shirts are too short for the maternity pants. Is it totally odd for a non-pregnant looking person to start wearing her pregnancy clothes?

Best answer:

Answer by Poppy: John is due 12/19/08
I started around 12 weeks. I was not showing but things did not fit and they were really uncomfortable – I also bought a bella band. Now I’m 21 weeks and I have no choice but to wear maternity clothes. When I shop for them I see many many women in the stores who aren’t really *showing* but are buying clothes. Don’t feel weird you will eventually really need them and be happy you have them.

How soon did you start wearing maternity clothes?

Question by cwrayvoa: How soon did you start wearing maternity clothes?
I am almost 15 weeks and my pre-pregnancy clothes do not fit at all. I was wearing them up until last week with the button and zipper open and a belly band but theya re just too uncomfortable. Now, my belly is not poking out but it is much bigger than before. Rather than having 3 or 4 different stages of clothes, I just want to start wearing maternity clothes. They are comfortable and it makes sense to me. I am proud to show off my belly.

A woman at my job came up and asked me today how far along I am so I told her 15 weeks. She looked at me like I was an idiot and asked why I was wearing maternity clothes already cause my belly is barely poking out. I told her it was more comfortable. She laughed and said “But you are barely pregnant”. I snapped back that she “Barely had any class” and just walked away.

When did you start wearing maternity clothes and do you think I am strange for starting at 15 weeks if my belly is growing and my old clothes aren’t fitting?
I could care less about her opinion but it really annoyed me. (Imagine that – a pregnant woman annoyed!)

Best answer:

Answer by blebert2002
I am 28 weeks pregnant with #3 and I was in maternity clothes at 8 weeks! Everyone was like why are you wearing them you are going to hate them by the end of your pregnancy. I could not wear my normal clothes and I thought it was dumb to go out and buy bigger clothes and them by maternity clothes later on. So I just started wearing them.

Bottom line — If you are more comfortable in them, then wear them!

Pregnancy: When did you start wearing maternity clothes?

Question by Mel: Pregnancy: When did you start wearing maternity clothes?
I’m only 12 weeks pregnant and my jeans don’t seem to want to fit around my waist the way they should. Before I got pregnant I wore a size 10 so I wasn’t exactly little to begin with. When I tried to put my jeans on this morning they were too tight and made my stomach hurt. All I’ve been wearing lately are pajama pants or those cute lounge pants from American Eagle and Old Navy.

I’ve heard that you show quicker your second pregnancy. I had an abortion last summer but I was only 6 weeks along, so I wasn’t sure if that would count or not. But did it perhaps prepare my body for it?! Other than that though, this is gonna be my first baby.

It seems like I’m not even far enough along to be buying maternity pants!! Am I eating too much or something?! Someone help!! LOL!

Best answer:

Answer by jokiebird
No, the abortion wouldn’t count because your uterus wasn’t stretched yet. But I, too, was a size 10 and ended up in maternity clothes early because I bloated pretty quickly. Just wear whatever is comfortable, you’ll be so much happier that way! Good luck!

How many weeks were you when you started wearing maternity clothes?

Question by lovelovelove: How many weeks were you when you started wearing maternity clothes?
I am 25 weeks tomorrow and have just now started to wear maternity clothes.

I have one pair of pre-pregnancy pants that still fit nice, but other than that, its pregnancy clothes.

I do not like maternity clothes, the maternity pants always feel like they are falling off of me even though I bought the smallest size.

Just curious how far along you all were when you had to start wearing them :)

Best answer:

Answer by swan101
I started wearing them around 20 weeks, but even at 33 weeks 5 days the pants still feel like they are falling off and I guess I am wearing the right size.

I’m 6 1/2 weeks and I’ve had to go buy a few pairs of pants that are a size larger than what I normally wear – I also got pants that stretch so hopefully they’ll last a bit.

When did you start wearing maternity clothes with your 2nd pregnancy?

Question by luvmybabies: When did you start wearing maternity clothes with your 2nd pregnancy?
With my first, I didn’t start wearing them til around 6 months, but with this one (my 2nd), I already don’t fit into any of my jeans anymore, so I had to go out & buy a pair of maternity “under belly” jeans. I am only 9 weeks!!!

Best answer:

Answer by hillbillylana
I think I am going to start wearing mine earlier with this pregnancy. I have actually missed the comfy jeans I had. I believe as long as I don’t tell people, most won’t notice anyway. I am going to be comfortable no matter what.

When in pregnancy should I wear maternity clothes?

Question by Pregnant with baby #1: When in pregnancy should I wear maternity clothes?
I’m still in my first trimester, but my clothes are already feeling tight! Its hard to fit comfortably in my jeans and I don’t want to (nor can I), wear sweat pants everyday. Should I just buy some regular clothes in bigger sizes? What do I do when those don’t fit though? Please give me some advice.

Best answer:

Answer by Verree
You wear them when they make you more comfortable than your normal clothes. There are no guidelines every woman is different.

I’m a little over 10 weeks pregnant and I’m starting to get uncomfortable with my regular pants. I feel like it’s too soon to wear maternity clothes. I’m not exactly a skinny woman either. I don’t have any of my maternity clothes left over from my daughter, so I’m guessing I should start shopping, but is it normal to need to wear maternity clothes this soon?
