Question by Freezing in MN: How soon did your frequent urination start during pregnancy?
I am tentatively 4-1/2 weeks pregnant right now. With previous pregnancy that ended in miscarriage, frequent urination seemed to be a more obvious symptoms for me, but only during weeks 6-8 or so and mostly early in the morning, having to get out of bed to go. I found myself getting up this morning with the urge to go, but the amount didn’t quite correlate with the urge. I know it isn’t a bladder infection. Has anyone else felt like the urge was more than the output? And when did your symptoms start?

Initially I had it from the increased blood flow – your kidneys function better and so you pee more. That lasted weeks 4-10. THEN you bladder starts getting squooshed. That usually starts (atleast it did for me) around 20 weeks. It gets worse the farther along you get.

I’ve read all over the net that your get blue veins on your breasts during pregnancy, so I’m just a bit curious about this because I’ve always had blue veins on my breasts. They aren’t very dark, but I can definitely see them. Is this normal? Or are the blue veins REALLY dark and noticeable when pregnant? What do they look like?

If you are light skinned you will have veins anyway, it is not a sign of pregnancy.

I have something called Chiari malformation. I have a mild case of it which causes bad headaches at the base of my neck. I do not get them very often-maybe once a month for a few days. I am not pregnant now but have always been afraid of what I would do to get rid of the headaches when I get pregnant. I use any anti-inflammatory to get rid of the headaches-ibuprofen, Tylenol, aspirin, etc. What can be taken during pregnancy to get rid of a headache?

normally pregnant woman gain around 10 kilogram. This can vary, depends on the person. the baby is around 2,5 kilo, the water is around 3 kilo, the placenta etc. around 0,5 kilo…4 kilo extra fat..

So, what’s the real question here? Are you saying that activities you have done before you were pregnant now makes you feel anxious? I have severe anxiety and, before I became pregnant, was prescribed to an anxiety medication. Now that I’m pregnant I cannot take them. My anxiety gets terrible at times. I would suggest sitting down with a book, taking a warm bath (not too long!), getting fresh air outdoors, lighting a few candles, taking slow deep breaths, or pamper yourself. For severe anxiety or anxiety attacks, you should go to the hospital.

This is my first pregnancy, and I just had my first one last week. I read in one of my clinic’s pamphlets that ultrasounds are very expensive for the clinics and hospitals, so they don’t give that many. But on average, how many does one get?

2-3 is the average. One to confirm a pregnancy diagnosis and heartbeat, another diagnostic at 18-24 weeks, and some dr’s now do a third trimester to estimate size at delivery. If there are any complications you may have more than this.

As my wife didn’t know about her pregnancy and during haj days she used pills to stop menses on expecting dates. But when she stopped eating pills she havn’t got periods. We did self pregnancy test at home and found it positive. Now she is worried whether pills effected baby or not.

I need to keep my wife walking on egg shells with this issue. I know some women gain weight during pregnancy but i need to minimize this. Can you all tell me how much weight she should be gaining. I will take whatever number you give and subtract five pounds from it, that will be her target weight. If she goes above that i am gone. I don not want her having loose skin, stretchmarks, or saggy breasts when this terrible time is over.

I’ve heard that hair grows faster during pregnancy but how much faster? I also know hair grows about .5 an inch a month normally. Does this speed it up to one inch a month? .75 of an inch a month? What has been your experience?

I was army active duty and i ran my fanny off. You may get out of balance or dizzy but there are many types of vigorous excercizes you can safely do while pregnant. I was 125lbs and 4’11″ i was all muscles due to push up sit ups running etc. I know most army girls are pretty girly but i could do 50 pushups in 50 seconds that was cake. I gained 3lbs but after i had her i droped from a size 3 to a size 0 in less than a week. I was 105-110lbs and i’ve maintained that weight until my current pregnancy. A few things you might need to understand know your pregnancy’s limits your internal temp should stay under 102% and if it does go higher should not stay hogh for more than 10 minutes. Also every pregnancy is different you may have a complicated pregnancy my mom was paralyzed while carryng me when she could walk (i was on her spine) she couldn’t take 3 step without going into early labor. So be prepared and keep ypur doctor posted many women do jog well into their pregnancies but even in a normal pregnancy you need

My husband and I are starting to think about kids after 2 years of marriage. We are starting to take the first steps in planning a family. I have taken Topamax for 3 years now to help control rare epileptic seizures, I’ve done some reading about Topamax and birth defects, but they chance seems low. Has anyone taken Topamax during pregnancy? ..and how was your outcome?

There have been many FDA warnings released concerning Topamax use in pregnancy lately, including a change in pregnancy category to reflect the fact that its more dangerous than once thought. Topamax has been found to cause oral clefts (cleft lip and cleft palate) as well as something called hypospadias which is a genital defect when taken during pregnancy. The chances of these birth defects are low, but they are apparently prevalent enough to warrant lawsuits, which look like they are going on now.

In my opinion, why chance it? Taking folic acid before and during your pregnancy can greatly reduce the chances of any side effects, but talk to your doctor about safer alternatives to take while you are pregnant or not taking an antiepileptic at all for a period of time if there is no real danger to your health or the baby’s health. I found this website to be extremely helpful concerning topamax risks during pregnancy..

It could mean that the pregnancy isn’t progressing, but that is worst case scenario. It doesn’t HAVE to mean that. It could just be your body’s natural reaction to being pregnant. Lots of women have to deal with slowly rising hcg levels, myself included. And it is not at all abnormal for you to have some slight bleeding throughout your entire pregnancy.
Keep going to the doctor and allow them to figure it all out for you. Try not to stress yourself out, that won’t help you at all.

I’m having a mild, but annoying pain in my lower right pelvic region. It doesn’t hurt terribly, but I just noticed it a good bit today and I’m in early pregnancy. Is this round ligament pain? Thank you!
I’m not doubled over in pain so I doubt it’s appendicitis But it feels more like a pulled muscle and it’s more in my pelvis than my abdomen.

I think it’s by the hip bones, (that’s where I get mine) sometimes when I get up too quick or lift my legs too high I get a sharp stabbing pain… starts at different time’s for everyone, depending on how big baby is I think

You are fertile for about a ten day window around ovulation and most fertile on the days directly surrounding the day you ovulate.
It is extremely difficult to conceive on the days directly before your next period and during menstruation; however, because semen can survive for so long in a woman’s body, after menstruation the chances go up again until you reach ovulation where it is at it’s peak.

Well LONG story short….my girlfriend well ex cuz i made her mad and she left me….is about 15 weeks pregnant now and she cant stand me. We were a serious couple with talks of even getting married. Before the pregnancy she was the type to get mad and get irrational but be able to calm herself down in about 10 minutes. It seems like now she gets set off and she cannot bring herself back down. She is convinced that i dont love her, care about her and only think i want to be with her because shes pregnant. I havent spoken to her in about a week and a half now and its starting to break me down a little bit. People have said that she will start to calm down in the 2nd trimester but so far it seems nothing is changing. So my question is is it possible that this could go on during the entire pregnancy? Or am i really losing the love of my life : (
