Answer by froggyinpants
I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but there’s a chance that you will have SOME of that weight forever… maybe not, but maybe.

In my opinion, don’t use diets where you “count points”. They tend to stress, distract and make you cheat on your diet. Start off taking baby for walks/jogs in the stoller. I DO recommend pilates. Good luck!

Is there any proof that a healthy diet improves pregnancy outcomes?

Question by Do your own thinking!: Is there any proof that a healthy diet improves pregnancy outcomes?
No, I’m not trying to find an excuse to eat junk food — I eat pretty well, always have.

But I can’t find any actual proof that healthy eating habits actually do much.

I don’t mean “as opposed to eating utter garbage and not taking a vitamin supplement.” Nutritional _deficiencies_ = problems, yes.

Pregnancy diet??

Question by Lisa S: Pregnancy diet??
I am currently 21 weeks pregnant… How does my diet look ?

Today I ate…
Breakfast
1 large bagel w/ peanut butter, large glass of milk
1 small cup of coffee

Lunch
Large salad w/ chicken, bacon, egg, beets, cucumbers, carrots, tomatos, italian dressing
1/2 cup cottage cheese
1/2 cup fruit – apples/cantelope/grapes
bottle of water

I’ll probably have a snack when I get home from work – something along the lines of a PB&J and a yogurt…

Dinner
Macaroni and Cheese
Big bowl of strawberries

I have a very busy schedule – so its hard for me to eat a large dinner.

How does this look? ..
also – I am drinking water all day long… just forgot to write that :) And I also take my prenatal everyday :)

Best answer:

Answer by Expecting1

Q&A: Will being on an oral HCG diet cause a false positive pregnancy test?

Question by Kelly: Will being on an oral HCG diet cause a false positive pregnancy test?

I’m just curious, while being on a HCG diet, will a pregnancy test come up as a false positive? I believe that this has happened to me. I’m not looking for different diets to try. So please I don’t want to know about any of them.

Best answer:

Answer by T
The hCG will be excreted in your urine and can indeed lead to a false positive on a pregnancy test.

Diet soda and pregnancy (Diet Coke)?

Question by Mama_MJ: Diet soda and pregnancy (Diet Coke)?
Any fellow diet coke addicts out there who are pregnant?? I’m “cut back” and drink only 2 cans a day, but I still worry its too much. There is just NO substitute I like. Literally diet coke and water are the only drinks I like. Its not the caffeine that bothers me, its the artificial sweetener. Does anyone else drink this much and do you worry? Has anyone had a baby and drank diet soda throughout their pregnancy??

Thanks for any info anyone has!

Best answer:

Answer by ღ♥Barb♥ღ ~ Estelle due Aug.3rd!
The aspartame is a really big “no no” in pregnancy. Instead, switch to the real Coke. You’ll most likely be fine, but honestly, you should just get away from it for your baby.
The real Coke will be better for both you, and baby.

Pregnant & craving sausage biscuits —> but on a pregnancy diet?

Question by <33: Pregnant & craving sausage biscuits —> but on a pregnancy diet?
It’s not really a diet. I don’t starve myself. I’m trying to eat fresh fruits, cereals, oatmeal, yogurt, milk, cheese, whole grain bread and healthy meals with vegetables included only.

What do you think I can do to distract myself from not enjoying sausage biscuits..?

Best answer:

Answer by !!~IHaveABabyGirl~!!
Its a craving, so your body is yearning for something. Just eat them! You’re 32 wks now, having a few things that you’re craving is not going to do anything to your weight, especially this late in pregnancy.

Any diet secrets for getting rid of pregnancy weight?

Question by xoxo – knm: Any diet secrets for getting rid of pregnancy weight?
Besides Breast feeding please! And yes I do plan on breast feeding, but is there anything else that seemed to really help with shedding the pounds after baby was born.

Best answer:

Answer by Emoja
Eat healthy and exercise. There’s no such thing as a diet secret, if there were nobody would be fat. Eat right, exercise and breastfeed, that’s the only way to shed extra weight.

pregnancy diet for first time pregnancy?

Question by Jenny: pregnancy diet for first time pregnancy?
Please advise what to avoid and what to eat more during pregnancy.

Best answer:

Answer by Thwarted
a well balanced diet with lots of fruits and veggies and lean proteins are still good for you and your growing baby, foods to avoid is fish high in mercury http://www.americanpregnancy.org/pregnancyhealth/fishmercury.htm
too much caffeine, alcohol, you should heat up lunch meats, undercooked/ raw meats, and unpasteurized foods.
During the first trimester you do not need any extra calories, during your second and third you need to eat an extra 300 calories a day.
When I was pregnant with my second child I was determined to avoid getting preeclampsia again and followed the brewers diet for pregnant women. My first was 9lbs 7ozs 6 days early and my second was 6lbs 8ozs two days past the due date.

Ways to get protein into my pregnancy diet?!?

Question by ITS A BOY!! 3/12/09!: Ways to get protein into my pregnancy diet?!?

I am 15 weeks pregnant and I am trying to eat the most balanced diet i can, but there is one problem, I am not a vegetarian, but i do not really like to eat meat. It is just the texture and the taste of most meats i do not like to eat. What are other ways for me to get my recommended protein?

Best answer:

Answer by Brandon S
Peanut butter! It has tons of protein and there are many types with slightly different tastes and textures to choose from. Or go see a nutritionalist to make you a plan.
PS stay away from fish. Mercury bad for baby
Good luck

Q&A: Pregnancy diet website? menu’s included ?

Question by KT: Pregnancy diet website? menu’s included ?
looking for a website that has an interactive or sample menus for pregnant women.

this is my first pregnancy and I’m always(mostly) nauseated i only feel like chicken noodle soup or jamba juice smoothies.
I know i need to do better than that.
I am a very pick eater and having trouble eating, I’m only 7 weeks along.
thanks!!!!

my DR told me to eat 6 small meals but the thought of all that food sickens me beyond belief.
oh my goodness I am so sick of crackers i could vomet.

Best answer:

Answer by Amy W
I was sick the whole time I was pregnant with my daughter. The doctor told me to eat whatever I could stomach. Sometimes I ate pretzels and drank hot Coca-Cola all day. Try keeping some saltines at your bedside. Eat a few before you get up, sometimes this helps. Good luck.

What is best diet for a new mom who wants to lose pregnancy weight?

Question by Me: What is best diet for a new mom who wants to lose pregnancy weight?
I need to lose 30 stubborn pounds. My right leg is messed up from the pregnancy, and I dont get to do exercise that requires running/ aerobics.
I eat healthy – no sweets, fast food etc.

Best answer:

Answer by bubblies
just play with your baby, like you can use it (him/her) as a type of weigh and lay on your back and lift (him/her) up many times, or just chasing them around the house once they start crawling, go see a doctor maybe you can get into a physical therapy class to help with your leg.

Q&A: Can I diet and exersize to stay the same weight throughout my pregnancy?

Question by jaccideboss: Can I diet and exersize to stay the same weight throughout my pregnancy?
Ok, first off, I’m 26 years old and I’m a little over 50 pounds overweight. I have gained all my weight from my previous 2 pregnancies, and I’m bound and determined to lose this weight. However, I am in my second trimester of my third pregnancy. My question is, is it ok to diet and stay the SAME weight throughout my entire pregnancy (though healthy eating and exersizing… i’m aware that I have to eat 300 calories more for the baby.) to lose weight so I’m 20 pounds lighter after the baby ??? Is this even possible to do and still remain healthy? Thanks!

~~Please refrain from being rude ~~

Best answer:

Answer by caffsans
you should talk this over with the Dr so you know whether or not the baby will be deprived =good luck

What type of diet should I go on to lose my post pregnancy weight gain i need to only lose 15 pounds?

Question by LILY: What type of diet should I go on to lose my post pregnancy weight gain i need to only lose 15 pounds?
I want to know what type of diet and physical activity training I should do. I am preparing to run at 5:00 a.m every morning and run 2 miles. So any trainers out there. Please answer.

Best answer:

Answer by telakenisis
I recommend you consult with a dietician or nutritionist that would be best. But if you can’t afford to do that go with a 2000 cal diet with 45% of those cal coming from carbs 35% protien and the rest from fat. Get you carbs from fruits and veggies … not breads pasta and the like. Best protien comes from chicken fish and eggs … fats from nuts.

As for exercise … you need to burn 300 – 500 cal. five times a week. What form of exercise you chose to accomplish this doesn’t matter.

Has anyone used the diet pill Alli to help loose pregnancy weight?

Question by Jessica: Has anyone used the diet pill Alli to help loose pregnancy weight?
Did it work at all? How was your diet? I still eat greasy food once in a while. What was your experience or someone you know?

Best answer:

Answer by Rad-Tech
I hear that you lose weight with it. Not alot, but you do lose some. The person I spoke with said it gives her diarrhea frequently, so she basically poops everything out. Kinda yucky, but true. :)

Did any of you drink diet pop regularly during pregnancy? Did your baby turn out okay?

Question by in_my_opinion: Did any of you drink diet pop regularly during pregnancy? Did your baby turn out okay?
How much did you drink? Is drinking one 20 oz (caffeine free), 5x a week okay? Especially if you have sugar-free gum too? I’m trying to quit for 3rd trimester.

Best answer:

Answer by pink butterfly
oh god yea. diet soda is totally fine. I asked my doctor, and he said there is nothing wrong with drinking it during pregnancy. some people just worry too much. Its not gonna hurt or damage the baby. I drank diet soda all through my first pregnancy, and my baby was very healthy, and would have a few cans a day of diet soda, and im pregnant again, and i still drink caffeine free diet soda. its safe.
