I took that once years ago and only once and it made me sleep 3 days. I would NOT take that pregnant.Try reading, praying, hot tea, a warm bath… dont take that unless you have no choice.

One Response to “what is the risks of taking Remeron during pregnancy?”

  1. lenurse says:

Why didn’t you discuss this with your doctor when she prescribed it to you?? You would get the best information from her rather than on yahoo answers. Anyway Remeron is a Category C, meaning it’s not recommended for use in pregnancy unless the benefits will outweigh the risks. I would be hesitant to use an antidepressant like Remeron during pregnancy because of current studies linking them to lung and heart defects. I think the safer option would be to try a Tylenol PM. It has the same ingredient as Benadryl to make you drowsy, and Benadryl has long been regarded as safe during pregnancy. This is what my OB recommended.

Here is an article all about Remeron. Page 10 has the information on pregnancy.
