The alcohol in your system at the time should not be a problem. The problems will come only if you continue to drink during the pregnancy.

The first trimester is when the developing fetus is most vulnerable. Although one alcoholic drink will probably not cause harm, regular drinking is strongly discouraged.
There are many women who drink socially and did not find out they were pregnant until several weeks or months into the pregnancy and they had normal, healthy babies even though they had been drinking alcohol.
It’s better to be safe than sorry though, right? If you’re in doubt, just don’t drink at all.
The general consensus of what I’ve read and talked about with my ob/gyn is that a few drinks early in the pregancy (like before you knew you were pregnant), shouldn’t cause problems. The problems start with women who consistently drink throughout their pregnancy, as alcohol interferes with oxygen getting into the baby’s bloodstream. I had gone to a party and drank a few alcoholic beverages before I knew I was pregnant (I think I may have been 2 weeks pregnant), and my child suffered no ill effects. Good luck and now that you know you are pregnant, no more drinking!
Not to worry. I drank in the early stages of both pregnancies (before I knew I was pregnant) And I was worried about this when I found out I was pregnant. But my doctor assured me I would be fine as long as I take my prenatal vitamins and take care of myself. The baby won’t be born with FAS (fetal alcohol syndrome) unless the mother continues to drink all throughout the pregnancy.
