There are many health and sociological risks for a teen pregnancy both for the mother and the child. The teenage body (depending on the age) is not fully developed and therefore not necessarily prepared for motherhood. Especially if this is a younger teen they risk giving birth prematurely because their body may not be able to expand adequately to carry to term, also their womb is not necessarily finished growing which increases the danger of a vaginal birth and necessitates a C-section. Despite the commonplace attitude towards c-sections, they are still major surgery and have risks accordingly. On a more case-by-case basis, teens are known for enjoying junk foods and other things that are not necessarily healthy for themselves or their children qhich equates another potential health risk. And last but not least teens don’t have any money. Life is not all about money but it definitely plays an important role. I don’t care how much you love your children, they can’t eat love, can’t wear love, can’t sleep at love. Point being it is very risky for a teenager to have a baby especially without the monetary support because that generally means no health insurance for the child or the mother, lack of access to health food choices (can’t afford them), perhaps lack of vehicle (what about emergencies), not being able to provide adequate daycare (more likely to leave the child in untrained hands), etc. I don’t know if you’re already pregnant or thinking about it but these are alot of points to consider.
