Q&A: unprotected Sexual Intercourse a day after the end of menstruation, risks of pregnancy?
Question by palindromagico: unprotected Sexual Intercourse a day after the end of menstruation, risks of pregnancy?
Hello, have a girlfriend of 3 years, we are very monogamous and have been tested, so std’s are not even an issue. Just had unprotected sex for the first time, 24 hours after her menstrual cycle (bleeding) ended. Her gyno told her it’s no risk. Want a second opinion? Please do reply. Thank you kindly.

I’m a Medical Scientist, I would say there is near 90% that there will be no problem due to the menstrual cycle ends just 24 hours ago.
But please Having Sex in a safer way to ensure you and your partner’s safety.

ur gonna be a daddy. people ovulate at different times and sometimes wven get pregnant on their periods. usually however a woman ovulates 7-10 days after the last day of their period. u should be ok
‘with unprotected sex there is always a risk
the only way there is no risk of getting pregnant is not haveing sex at all!’
that was a statement my obgyn said
he’s chief of staff at a major hospital, and been practicing for over 30 years
ovulation time is estimated from the start of her last menstruation (not the end) – if she bled for 7 days…..could be at risk. the risk isnt high, but its still there. if you really dont want a kid…….i would consider the morning after pill.
No most likely not. Because two weeks before your period a egg is released if you would have had sex around that time maybe she would have been pregnant
There is always a risk. People ovulate at different times, and sperm can stay in a womans body for 7 days (or something close to that).
Get birth control – doesn’t have to be condoms.
ovulation doesnot occur before the middle of the cycle, that’s 14 days from the begining of the menestruation (in a 28 day cycle).
at the time u described, the egg is still being formed
you can get pregnant any time when not protected.
there is a risk but its VERY slim that she would get pregnant. its almost impossible to be fertile at the beginning of her menstration cycle.
