More doctors appointments, more ultrasounds. Also if anything looks not 100% right then they will likely put you right on bed rest.

One positive is that around here the high risk deliveries are done in the best hospitals and the regular pregnancies are done in the regular ones. So you will probably be delivering in a nicer facility with more back up plans for the “what ifs?”

  2. Leuco says:

You’ll be given more options for U/S, test’s (blood, urine, amnio etc), you may get to have app. with high risk pregnancy specialists, and you *MAY* have more Dr. apps., although that’s dependent on how busy your Dr. is.

there are alot of diff. you cant really work, it affects your emotional state of mind, cant lift over a certain weight, and you go to the specialist (at least it is recomended) and you go alot more often with an ultrasound everytime. there is alot more but your ob can explain more efficiantly than anyone else can. call them are go to google. it will be worth it i assure you. i had mine at 26 weeks only thing is he didnt make it.

hey we have something in common, i gave birth to a lil boy at 23 weeks just about one year ago sadly he did not make it, but now pregnant and am considered high risk this now just mean the doc will watch you more closely , you a like 10 X more likely to have a primme again HE WAS MY 3 , early baby, more test will be done to see if you have something wrong with you , you will probley be put on bed rest i am , and not fun!!

  5. Stacy says:

I was a high-risk pregnancy because I had a short cervix. They can usually fix this early but he didnt catch it with me until it was too late. So for 6 out of 8 months (she was premature) I was bedridden. It was awful! I was sick really bad too so I goes laying all the couch all day was about as much as I could do anyway. You will have more in-depth ultrasounds and bloodwork more often, but other than that nothing should change. You might not get to do things a normal pregnant woman would like running or swimming. If you do get bed-ridden, have lots of magazines and movies on standby! Good luck and best wishes!
