    Moot point…Plan B.No more debate.

  2. mpawsonable says:

I feel the anti-gay stems from the anti-women. They get freaked out by men who they see ‘acting like women’ and why on earth would they choose to do that?!

  3. multitalentino says:

Republicans are like a flat tire. You put up with it, fix it and the next time get a better car.

No more Republicans in the White House.

  4. badboyr66 says:

Pete DeGraaf is an idiot…and should be removed from office for such idiotic thinking .

  5. LanceMurtagh says:

    @Pensfan8726 You = Joke

  6. DickMills09 says:

He might change his mind if he was the one being raped. And, using his analogy, one could extrapolate that anyone in fear of being raped should insert a very sharp, outwardly pointing, possibly barbed spike up their hoo-hoo as a precaution to being raped. I mean, it’s better to be safe…

  7. BrotherAlpha says:

I’ve said it before, and I’ll have to say it again… Republicans lack the empathy to be considered human.

  8. TheCaptainLulz says:

@xadam2dudex I wrote to his private e-mail, not the office one, so we’ll see.

  9. Leadman1989 says:

I think you guys are misunderstanding his comment. He was talking about the rapist not the rape victim, because raping people can be really inconvenient sometimes.

  10. kwb70652 says:

Using DeGraaf’s logic; men should also get abortion coverage to pay for that service for the woman the impregnated.

  11. kwb70652 says:

@g1981c People plan to have their teeth cleaned and cavities filled; No One plans an “unplanned” pregnancy. really. As I posted earlier: you don’t get auto insurance, and then have to get separate auto insurance in case of vandalism — these guys are jackasses; even their own twisted logic can be argued against their goals.
Also, abortion is LEGAL and their only goal is to make it illegal — this is just one step in trying to control woman and their decisions on managing their own bodies.

  12. kwb70652 says:

Even if you want to put it that way, that is why health insurance should cover abortion. You don’t get auto insurance, and then have to get separate auto insurance in case of vandalism — these guys are a bunch of jackasses; even their own twisted logic can be argued against their goals.

  13. eswyatt says:

    @MetalIsEvolution Yes, and pro-genocide, pro-infanticide, etc., etc.

  14. eswyatt says:

@sirald66 The difference between the emotional responses of men and women to the idea of rape stems from the difference in parental investment. Women (or at least their genes) have a paramount interest in controlling a more limited number of reproductive opportunities. A male rape causes trauma for reasons relating to self-image and reputation (beyond the bare assault). I know it’s politically correct to say otherwise; that it’s all the same.

  15. darby7272 says:

@g1981c …don’t let the “un” in unsubscribe hit you in the ass, you lunatic…buh bye…

  16. eswyatt says:

@sirald66 I wasn’t commenting on the proposal itself, just the comparison.

  17. idunno22909 says:

Don’t you just love the sweeping blanket that is religious protection? You can say that someone is an abomination and worthy of hate, and as long as you say that your religion backs you up, you are guaranteed impunity. Are we really surprised that these people could find some way to spread their selfishness and antipathy to this level? Moderate followers of religion: reign in your fellows, they’re making you all look terrible.

  18. sirald66 says:

@eswyatt – an empathetic compassionate man can understand on an emotional level; men also get raped.

  19. sirald66 says:

@eswyatt – it doesn’t seem reasonable to make every female pay the insurance industry. why not the nation cover such an expense? churches get tax free status, how about they stay out of this.

  20. xadam2dudex says:

@TheCaptainLulz he wouldn’t reply to a citizen so I wouldn’t hold out for a reply

  21. kazooga1234 says:

abortion isnt in the stupid bible and if they want women to be able to have safe abortions then let them use the idiotic inusurance they already have and whats worse is they want to make it freaking mandatory

  22. judoyodan says:

Nowhere can such mind-numbing stupidity be created to the extent that christianity succeeds.

  23. PT109Boat says:

@Pensfan8726 Hey!!! That’s an insult to all jokes. ; )

  24. TheCaptainLulz says:

I just took some time to write to the representative from Kansas and informed him on the perspective of a foreign citizen, I hope he replies, but I doubt he will.

  25. eswyatt says:

Men cannot, on an emotional level, understand the horror that rape or even the prospect of rape causes women. Steven Pinker attributes this discontinuity to our evolutionary past. That said, I think I must defend the Republican in this case. It seems he was making the point that we insure against a lot of things that aren’t our fault, and used the flat tire as an example. In a sense, when he buy health insurance, we’re indirectly insuring against part of the injury from violent criminal attacks.
