Pregnancy diet??
Question by Lisa S: Pregnancy diet??
I am currently 21 weeks pregnant… How does my diet look ?
Today I ate…
Breakfast
1 large bagel w/ peanut butter, large glass of milk
1 small cup of coffee
Lunch
Large salad w/ chicken, bacon, egg, beets, cucumbers, carrots, tomatos, italian dressing
1/2 cup cottage cheese
1/2 cup fruit – apples/cantelope/grapes
bottle of water
I’ll probably have a snack when I get home from work – something along the lines of a PB&J and a yogurt…
Dinner
Macaroni and Cheese
Big bowl of strawberries
I have a very busy schedule – so its hard for me to eat a large dinner.
How does this look? ..
also – I am drinking water all day long… just forgot to write that
And I also take my prenatal everyday

Sounds like plenty, and very healthy.
Congratulations and good luck.
wheres the evening snack? and just one bottle of water all day?
It looks good — just make sure you also get enough iron. Is your doctor testing for that?
Looks great!
Two areas you can “upgrade” a bit:
Whole grains would be good. Whole wheat bagel or oatmeal for breakfast would be an easy option.
Also, I might add a bit more protein at dinner and maybe a veggie. Like add some ham and peas to the mac and cheese? It will help you keep full and help keep your blood sugar stable (a carb heavy dinner of pasta and fruit might leave you feeling snacky/crabby later….)
