Water birth of Dylan Meade
Birth of our second son, Dylan, on June 30th 2009. Born in beautiful Germany (husband stationed here for Air Force) Our 1st child was brought into the world with the help of pitocin, stadol & epidural (that video is also on here!)..thought i would try an au natural drug free water birth and sure enough, I DID IT! The-most-amazing-experience-OF-MY-LIFE! 
Very very empowering as a woman! I could never go back to medicine after this.. I am a changed woman! If anyone has ANY questions for me, I would more than happy to answer them! :]

@cmorrison80 I chose to deliver in the water because I had read numerous times how it takes the edge of contractions, relaxes you and is a gentle environment for a baby to be born into it. And it sure was.. Dylan barely cried and although that kind of alarmed me the midwives kept saying “water babies are happy babies”.
@Arokachikachaka Hi! if it is something you feel confident and passionate about doing then I definitely say go for it. But be realistic. Before this I had never had menstrual cramps nor felt any contractions with my first first so pretty much this was like my first time in “labor” and I thought it was totally doable. Was it painful? Definitely. But I really believe it’s mind over matter.. I knew there was an end point and an excellent reward at that end point. I loved my experience.
I’ve never delivered before and this is something I really want to do. Do you think it’s a good decision for first time mothers to submit themselves to this experience? I am scared, but I’m not a fan of medications. Do you have any advice for a beginner?

@cmorrison80 Thank you! (: I chose to do a water birth because with Tyler I was induced, received an epidural, and stadol and I honestly just felt robbed of the experience. I imagined kyle wipping the sweat off my head and telling me “you can do it” and in the end I didnt feel ANY pain. It was perfect… perfect to everyone except me. I waned to REALLY experience it…. and I did and I will never go back to a medicated hospital birth again. Next baby I want to be born at home. (:

@lasantaladiabla This was my second baby. I did tear a little with my first but surprisingly didn’t with this one. The water helped with that, i’m sure!
omg im so inspired by this video, i am 30 weeks right now and i refuse having my baby through a c-section, or being sedated… i think im strong enough and can give birth just like God wanted me to. But my husband is so concerned about me tearing just because its my first baby… is this your first baby? and if so did you tear at all?
@BisforBirth No. It was at St. Johannis the German hospital. If you deliver on base it would be at LRMC (Landstuhl Regional Megical Center) and they don’t have tubs and are pretty restricted as to what you can do. I had to switch from Tricare Standard to Tricare Prime to be able to go off base!

i am headed to turkey via the airforce and habe been told i can storknest to ramstien for my birth, i am lookinf for water and most natural thing i can do, do you reccomend it there?
