Question by Joshilan (Momma to 3 boys): What are or were your pregnancy clothing secrets?
I was wondering what you’re secrets were to look good while pregnant. I hate maternity clothes. So instead I just bough very low rise jeans and the long cut shirts. I thought it was alot cuter than the big bulky maternity clothes. So what were your secrets for looking fine while preg? What did you do for things like
Clothing?
Stretch Marks?
Swelling?
How did you keep your glow?
I think it’d be nice to share our secrets so we can all be those hot momma’s out there!!

Pants don’t zip anymore? Pull that down over them and no one will know your fly is down! But instead of buying one of these, I would just get an extra large tube top or strapless tube bra for $ 5 at walmart.

I’ve been lucky to be able to wear my regular low-rise jeans my entire pregnancy. I use a hair-tie to give me a little extra space, but it’s saved me money & they’re still cute jeans.
Since it’s summer time, and I’ve just recently started getting bigger I went to Old Navy and invested in there cheap, good tank tops. I layer them and that along with flip flops are my day-to-day casual look.
I’ve always used Jergens Natural Glow, and I’ve continued to use it. It’s awesome, and it gives me such a pretty tanned look without being bad for my skin.
I’m lucky that I haven’t had to deal with stretch marks, or swelling (yet).
i’m not worried to much about looking good— i’ve been sick and tired and all i want is to feel comfortable- and if someone don’t like it they can bite me!!
i have found some nice maternity stuff at old navy and motherhood—
even before pregnancy i didn’t wear makeup much– now i wear it even less- i’m either an emotional mess and cry and it runs or i’m sweating like a pig and it runs
i did get outside one day and got sunburned (not on purpose), but now i have a little color to my skin that keeps me from looking completely pastey!
I have some maternity pants from my first pregnancy that aren’t so flattering, but with my figure now I agree with the low cut pants and long cut shirts (yay for the style!)
I like longer sleeves normally, but during the summer it isn’t so much an option so I get the tunic tops mainly.
Stretch marks are supposedly hereditary and I did indeed get some, but not too many. I drank plenty of water and put a lot of vitamin E lotion on my skin. If you mix it with your favorite lotion is also good too!
Swelling-take a cool bath. I didn’t have this problem till waaaay later in my pregnancy but it did help!
I always put a little bit of light eye shadow right above my cheek bones to give my cheeks a little glow.
Also, with the bigger boobs-a little push-up doesn’t hurt either;0)
Low rise jeans in one bigger is what i got and tight fitting long tees is way cute…so your on the right track. Stretch marks is a hard one. You can try using the cocoa butter stuff but it didn’t work for me, each baby they got worse. I didn’t have swelling. Flip flops were a pregnancy fav and denim skirts hitting right below the knee keep you cool. I used bronzing powder and light pink eye shadow to keep that glow everyone talks about. Good luck.
I only buy cute maternity pants. The shirts that are in style these days look very cute while pregnant. I love being pregnant and wearing form fitted shirts that show off my belly). I also wear lots of lotion and got a new hairstlye thats easy to manage and still very trendy and cute.
