It’s official, pre-pregnancy clothes no longer fit. When did you turn to maternity wear?
Question by ♥New Mommy♥: It’s official, pre-pregnancy clothes no longer fit. When did you turn to maternity wear?
I am 13 weeks. Last week these pants fit fine. This morning I couldn’t even zip them up! Good thing I just got my bella bands in the mail yesterday so I am still able to wear the pants.
When did you start wearing maternity clothes?
I have a few maternity bottoms that my mom got me but they are waaaay too big for me and I can’t wear them now. I did go out this weekend and buy a few work slacks with elastic waists. But I ordered (and just received) my bella bands and they are awesome! I can wear all my pre-pregnancy jeans unzipped and unbuttoned and the bands keep them up and cover up the zipper area. It’s great.

im 22 weeks and i’ll get mine this weekend. my doc fussed at me for wearing my regular pants last week, but that’s ok i usually have to unbutton them when i sit too long.
at about 18 weeks…thats also when i got my first 1/2 pound weight gain…I had bad morning sickness and lost 15 pounds to start my pregnancy!
I started wearing maternity pants this time around, as soon as my regular pants got tight.
I started wearing maternity shirts when all mine got too short, I honestly don’t remember when that way lol
I was about 4 months. Some advice: buy the clothes big so you can wear them for most of your pregnancy. Don’t buy things that fit right now. You will keep growing and growing, and its a waste of money. Buy clothes that will fit you up until you deliver.
I’m 37wks and only wearing maternity shirts b/c I can still fit my jeans.I always bought them loose anyway not that loose but not to tight.
I’m 13 weeks, as well, and I all the sudden look like I swallowed a huge cantaloupe. My old pants are just not getting around that anymore!
I went into the store at 12 weeks. I asked the lady, she said that most people come in around 11-13 weeks. And she told me ” then there are some people who are in denial who come in around 17 weeks”. lol. My suggestion is get some larger size jeans that are comfortable (maybe at a second hand store). You will probably want to wear them after you little girl/boy is born!
Around 12 weeks I also couldn’t get my pre-pregnancy clothes done up lol! I invested in a few of the pants that you can wear throughout the pregnancy and was set lol! It’s funny how all of a sudden everything you could wear is just too tight one day
Congrats and best wishes!
I’m still able to rubber band some of my larger pre-pregnancy pants closed (28 weeks). But I bought maternity pants at about 15 weeks just because they’re more comfortable.
I am 13 weeks too (due July 16) and I had to whip them out within this week. My jeans don’t button (some don’t even zip). I think soon my shirts will start stretching lol
Around three months I couldn’t fit into my pants anymore. I finally broke down and bought maternity pants.
I was so excited about the baby that I started right away–at 6-8 weeks.
TX Mom
I am also 13 weeks. I am at an inbetween stage. I am not wearing ‘maternity’ clothes yet. I just bought some pants that have stretchy waists. Kind of like track suits, velour pants, that type of thing. Luckily I can wear pretty much anything to work. It’s casual.
i couldn’t wear my pants at week 6-9, it’s not that i couldn’t zip them up, but the zipper pressed on my belly and it hurt, my baby girl started growing VERY low into my abdominal. at the beginning of my 2nd trimester i just wasn’t able to zip up anymore either. so i guess i’ve been wearing my maternity pants since 2 months pregnant. now at 24 weeks she’s starting to move up, and now i can actually wear my old pants fine, but still feel more comfy in maternity ones.
i started wearing maternity clothes at 9 weeks but this is also baby #3
the first i was 25 weeks and the second one i was about 15-16 weeks
I am 12 weeks 5 days and my jeans are getting a big tight in the waist. I am going to wear them until it is impossibly uncomfortable, my clothes are my clothes, I don’t feel like maternity clothes are my clothes…I feel like I am wearing someone elses clothes when I wear them. So I am going to hang out in my regular clothes as long as possible. I am going to look into Bella Bands, these sound great! I can still wear my regular jeans and be pregnant…I like it. As we all know…Silver doesn’t make maternity jeans, darn it!
I am 12weeks 2days and noticed a difference this morning when I went to take my daughter to school. I have lost around 10lbs because of lack of appetite, so my jeans have actually gotten a bit bigger. I still have to yank them up while standing or walking, but as of this morning they are getting a little bit uncomfortable to sit in. I also feel like I’m starting to waddle lmao….something I never did until close to the end of my first pregnancy.
My first milestone was 6weeks, was like someone threw a switch and I had all these pregnancy symptoms come flooding in.
My next milestone was 12weeks and all of a sudden my clothes fit differently.
Weird how it seems to just happen overnight isn’t it??
