Did you pack away some of your pre-pregnancy size clothes to make room for the pregnancy clothes?

Question by Ashlyn: Did you pack away some of your pre-pregnancy size clothes to make room for the pregnancy clothes?
I was just thinking about this. My bedroom is atrocious cause I do not fit too well into my regular clothes anymore at 4 months pregnant so I am just going to clean out a drawer or two and pack them away. Also when did you start cleaning out the room to be a nursery? I am thinking of doing this now while I feel ok. I am just nervous to it do it this early because if something happens…. UGh, I have no to talk to about this.. sorry for my rambling.

my son’s room now use to be a room with a couple of dressers in there so it wasn’t a probalem we just moved the dressers and added things as we got them. it was not done by them time i had his because i had him a month early but i was done by them time i got home ha ha. Some of my pre pregnancy clothes i fit into while i was pregnant so i jsut put my maternity clothes into a laundry basket floded. i didn’t have too many because at work i wore scrubs so i that’s what i was in the majority of the time and those fit me the whole time

no i left them in my closet, hoping i could wear them when i had my daughter…HA yea right. but they are still in my closet reminding of the size i once was. and im slowly getting there.
and yes i cleaned my room for a baby bed, and changer, etc. but i have always been told, not to do anything before your 5 mths pregnant, or its bad luck. my family very superstitious. during my first pregnancy i started buying things when i was just 2 months preggo, and ended up losing the baby at 14 weeks. i didnt start buying anything for my daughter till i was at least 6 months pregnant.

I packed away ALL of my jeans since they take up most of the room in my closet at about 4 months. I cleaned out 2 drawers of cutsie shorts that I couldn’t wear and replaced it with maternity stuff. I didn’t start the nursery until 6 months when I knew what I was having. I felt great at the end of my second trimester. The end of the third however….is just a cruel sick joke….so definately be done with the nursery before then.
    Best wishes!

Yes I packed away pre-pregnancy clothes into storage when I outgrew them to make room for my maternity clothes. As far as the nursery question…I understand the fear of doing things now and something bad happening (I’ve had 3 miscarriages so I UNDERSTAND) but you are 4 months along so the risk of miscarriage is very low. I would go ahead and prepare things while you are feeling up to it instead of waiting…if you wait until later you may not feel up to doing it and also what if the baby comes early and nothing is ready!?

  4. Hurley is 7 months old! ♥ says:

LOL!! I packed away every one of my prepreg clothes because by month 4 I couldn’t get into any of them, and I live in a 100 yr old home and for some reason they only put closets in the living areas back then, so all I have are huge wooden wardrobes and dressers. I didn’t start doing the nursery until I was 7 months pregnant, just because I am weird like that. I was afraid it would jinx my pregnancy. (you don’t have to do that, lol) but you don’t want to get everything done now, and then have 4 months of nothing to do. Do it a little at a time. My son is 7 months and I am just now unpacking my prepreg clothes and it is sad because they just don’t look the same, lol. Oh well.

  5. Emoja says:

I put away all of my old clothes to make room for my maternity clothes. Our bedroom was really small so it helped clear out space.

We set up our baby’s crib probably about 5 months into my pregnancy. I was so excited and just couldn’t wait. You can set up your nursery whenever you’re ready, you’ll be surprised at how much energy you’ll have to ‘prepare for baby’ as you approach your due date. You might not feel like doing the dishes but you’ll always be more than happy to put away baby clothes in the nursery.
