I just want to say to everyone, these minimal arguments are exactly why we are in the situation that we are. It is a systematic issue, it’s a whole problem. Pointing fingers is getting us no where, the US is slippying for real. I encourage everyone to study history for themselves!
@fruitikay
Yeah Euro-centric Culture.
@xfvkemosx have to laugh at your comment but you are probably right! Sonny, get crackin’ on those books, Mom and Dad want a BIG tax break this year….
well it is always something
How about students that actually want to learn
How about students that do not disrupt the class
How about students that do not paint graffiti on the schools
How about students that do not expect to be able to do anything they want in class other than be respectful of the teacher.
I bet the 5 year old never had any discipline at home but now understands that she needs to obey some people sometimes
MY BABY DIT DO NUT’N
Negros need their own schools. Mexicans need their own school. Whites will gladly pay for it.
Millions of excuses for Negroes!
@fruitikay see my video
@fruitikay – It’s all of our responsibility. There are fingers to point in so many directions (including at oneself). The main problem has been that we as Americans have thought that the world started in Maine and ended in California. We’ve spent the last 200 years in competition with each other instead of seeing that we were in competition with the world and every American child (black, white or other) is a national resource.
We have failed…all of us.
@pbrlimit – Oh boy, where do you even go with a comment like this? I guess in your history books Europeans always got along and there were no conflicts UNTIL non-whites came into the picture. You are a joke. And, if non-whites were to go away tomorrow, you’d quickly find out that it WAS NEVER about color.
@therealestsista You are seriously going to sit there and, instead of trying to improve the education system for inner-city black students, you’re going to try to act like a victim and like everyone, white people included OWE you something? I’m not racist, honey, I never have been. Don’t talk about white people like they are all in one box. There have been black teachers who have said WHITE kids don’t belong in that grade…so in my opinion your the one who is racist because race is all you see
@fruitikay Yea right whatever! How do u explain when a black kid skips kindergarten&enter his new 1st grade class & the white teacher tells him u don’t belong here? White teachers don’t expect Black boys to b geniouses, they expect them 2 b dumb! If white culture/society will stop the bigotry/racism & pay black folks(60 cents on the $)same as white folks(the whole $)equal pay, then will c a difference!U people gotta have a leg up 2 maintain your superiorty complex! Maybe blk kids won’t join gangs
America will become more segregated in the next 100 years and, if a race war does not occur, it will be for the best.
Blacks and Hispanics, specifically, are all the product of 3000 years of different religious, cultural, ethnic, political, social, and economic evolutions.
The downfall of the white man began when he foolishly thought he could convince the non-white world to accept his beliefs and by encouraging desegregation and globalization.
how to fix public education
step 1: militarize it basically more or less take the same approach military schools take.
step 2: uniforms strict dress codes
step 3: pay for performance for teaches and tax breaks (big ones) for parents who’s students are high achievers (parent will push there kids noses to the grind stone
And there you see. At a military academy, kids were capable of sitting still and being attentive. At a public school, as you said, there’s pride in doing the opposite. Clearly it’s the environment they’re in, and the dismally low standards they must conform to. If public education were approached differently, we would have a much different world very quickly.
The lady mentioned that she kept her boys out of law school. (lol) That we don’t need more lawyers.
Couldn’t anyone explain the idea? Should we be encouraged?
No wonder.
I spend my childhood in a military academy until the equivalent of HS junior yr. As a reward my father sent me to public HS for the end yr & graduation.
It was disgusting!! The kids, disorderly, noisy, violent, messy, truant, & held tremendous pride in these characteristics.
I was raised to prepare for a sharp & professional world. I lost bearing once realizing my education wasn’t upheld outside the academy.
(Then I enlisted. Home sweet home).
Education starts at home. “ls1z28chris” said it best.
That still doesn’t address the education issue. It is a state enforced policy that kids HAVE to attend education. People who are completely responsible and are in their thirties don’t have the money to spend on private education, so they send their kids to government-regulated public education for a huge portion of their early lives. It needs to be over-hauled.
Of course we can’t ask people not to have kids. What we can and need to do is disincentivize irresponsibility. Our world would be a better place if uneducated people in their teens and twenties stopped having babies they cannot afford. We can cut down on that behavior by ending the subsidies that support it.
You can’t ask people not to have kids. They’re going to. In a perfect world, we’d all have plenty of time to raise our kids ourselves and educate them, but we don’t live in that world. We live in a world where we have to provide for those children if we want them, so we go to these jobs and give our kids to the education system and spend as much time as we can with them, hoping for the best. If the economic and education systems were better, we’d have a far better world for humans.
Here is a remarkable concept: Don’t have kids if you can’t raise them.
I agree with you to a certain point, but most parents have to worry about jobs and careers, and unfortunately don’t actually have the time to spend on their kids. Even if they could, the government makes it illegal to not attend some education, and the public kind is free. So millions of children spend 8 hours a day getting fed garbage, metaphorically and literally. Our kids are being state-raised for 12 formative years of their lives. And it’s failing us. She’s right, it needs to change.
Alright, you got me. But I still don’t agree with the whole “what she’s saying IS right, but it’s YOUR responsibility to expend the effort to make sure”. I think Fora should be responsible for what they are advertising, and fully back up their arguments from the start. Just looking at these comments it is obvious how much this speech is being misinterpreted due to lack of context.
The lady in this video is complaining about kids not being prepared for the future by schools. Any child that shows up to school not knowing how to read has already been set up for failure by their parents. You can’t neglect a kid for four or five years and then pass it off on the state to take care of. That mentality is why these kids can’t succeed. Another education documentary showed a lady saying, “My baby is 18 and doesn’t know how to read. The schools failed him.” Sorry, but you failed.
They are unskilled labor. Too many people are teachers with general “education” degrees. They just get up there and “teach to the test” without giving kids any sort of problem solving or critical thinking skills. Most teachers are simply incapable of such lessons because they don’t know what the hell they’re talking about. I think that teachers should have degrees in the field in which they teach.
