I like your bedroom
@mamatrixxie I agree on the “wings” comment… no other pad like it!! =)
Lol, my sister packed An overnight bag and she stayed in the hospital for 4 days, in the bed high of the meds from the csection, she never touched one item she packed b/c she was in so much pain.
I would like to request a what’s in your purse and what’s in your bathroom video
come to think of it, I used a few of the diapers for myself as pads in the first 24 hrs because i bled ridiculously heavily (almost dangerously), but i have actually heard some people reccomend adult diapers for that first day or 2 as well. I suppose I should add that I bled for a LOT longer than they say, it was about 8 weeks with both of my kids
I am in Australia so I used the whole packet of nappies that I took with me. But like NIkki said, taking your own pads is a good idea (thick ones with wings
)
I didn’t bring any diapers because they give you all the diapers you need at the hospital… they really give you everything you need there. I was SO happy I brought pads cause I used my own the whole time. The hospital ones were thick but didn’t have wings, and weren’t comfy.
hey! i am 35 weeks and packing my bag, well trying….. did you need to bring any newborn diapers when you were at the hosp? also did you use the pads you brought at all? thanks so much!
At the hospital they had her in these little white t-shirts that buttoned up… they were cute and soft. And then she just had a diaper on the bottom. It was easy that way cause we had to keep changing her diaper and we didn’t have to take off tons of clothes every time we had to do it! And you keep them pretty much swaddled at the hospital… just because they need to stay nice and warm while they learn to regulate their body temp.
thanks for answering! so, you only needed one outfit? what did she wear at the hospital?
Hey girl! Hm- I am REALLY happy I took my own pads! The hospital ones are good- they are thick- BUT the ones I brought were ‘always overnight protection’ and they had wings which the hospital ones did not. I didn’t stain 1 pair of undies the whole recovery-so I’d suggest em! I didn’t end up needing all the clothes I brought for Leah or the blankets- the ones they had were fine… I just used a coming home outfit for her. If I think of anything else I’ll let you know!
Hey Nikki!! This is the 2nd time I’m watching this video…as I am going to start packing mine. Is there anything that you brought that you didn’t need or that you wish you would have brought?
Thanks, Laci
gave me great ideas thank you!!! i assume you’ve given birth (with the update from Lora). CONGRATS!!!
Congratulations! I’m the proud mom of two older children & expecting my 3rd in June. There’s a HUGE ten year space between my 2nd & this one so I’ve actually had to get NEW advice on what to bring. I Love the great responses you’ve received & would like to add a little known one. ADULT BRIEFS. Yes briefs(diapers). I sometimes awoke with leaks on my gown and bed(VERY embarrassing). My friend used them & said they made her feel more secure & can’t be seen on the outside. Weird I know, but REAL..
hey i just had my little girl on march 8th. just thought id let ya know you might want to bring some of those baby mitten things… i forgot them and my baby scratched up her face with her fingernails. otherwise you can just put socks over her hands. good luck with the rest of your pregnancy and hopefully you’ll have her soon!
dont forget nursing bras and pads. also i cant stress enough, during each cntraction make sure someones applying lip balm to ur lips because mine were so dry, my mum was constinantly re-applying. also i had to were the opened back gown, during labour until deliverythen i wore my night gown. oh n good that ur bring blankets. they raped my baby in a towel. maybe get a smaller baby suit incase shes small.
Thank you for making this I think it’s going to help me a lot.
Yea we just rode home too, but i just HAD to get her a cute little dress, and the nurses went gaga over her! I am so frilly when it comes to baby girls! LOL
Thanks for this wonderful clip. It helped me put my list together. I am 34 weeks and starting to get my hospital bag together.
You have a good pick there of what your bringing love the little travel system thingy x congrats your gonna have a baby soon!!
Aww haha I was thinking about getting her a cute take-home dress but I figured that it’s just for the ride home and I want her to be warm and comfy, and then I will put something fancier on her when we have visitors come and everything. We’ll see though maybe I’ll go get her a dress.
I forgot to say but yes of course I am bringing deodorant lol… I am not bringing diapers because they supply plenty at the hospital. I did mention in the video I may bring some reading material but I’m not sure yet! Thanks a lot for the input
) Will take the suggestion about candy.
Did you pack deodorant. a nursing bras/breast pads, diapers? I’ve also heard you should pack lollipops or hard candies since you can’t eat or drink. Also you might want to bring a book or a deck of cards…it might be a long night.
That’s actually a REALLY good idea that I had read and completely forgot about! So thanks for reminding me
)
sounds like your all ready! so exciting! Maybe take some flip flops to wear in the shower, hospital showers can be pretty gross, you neve know who or what has been in there!!
