So many pregnant woman suffer from aches and pains. Pregnancy massage can not only help ease these aches but also helps with stress.

  2. ashleyhurlburt14607 says:

You flip over halfway through..you’re not on one side the whole time

  3. theflyingflea says:

I need to show this to my boyfriend! I really want a massage, insurance doesn’t pay for a prenatal massage, and during the time I have now lost sight of below the belly: I have discovered I have newly formed cankles from the swelling! :( He tries, and I appreciate it, but he doesn’t know what to do and sometimes makes me more sore…

  4. TheSushi117 says:

very informative, i have been doing light massages on my wife during her pregnancy but have avoided the back and lower back area, as i didnt want to injure mum or bub, but this video has shown some great tips along with the books i have been reading

  8. eriqita804410 says:

@eriqita804410 honey i have also been in ma school n it is true n like i said both my midwife n doc told me along with my teacher for medical assistant

  9. thex13thxchild says:

No, you want to avoid deep pressure on the popateal on any massage since it’s an endangerment- zine do to all the nerve-endings & blood vessels there. Blood clot in ANY one in any stage is a contraindication to massage. If it broke free then it could cause a stroke. Avoid deep pressure on the legs bcuz, not only the trigger points, but also they pregpp are PRONE to getting blood clots. If u see any signs of a blood clot, don’t massage & refer them to a doctor

  10. SillageDeLaReine says:

sleeping on the left helps with the flow of your bowels. That’s why massage therapist go clockwise while massaging the stomach. And since pregnant women tend to be constipated, left side is recommended.

  11. HuminBeenz says:

It would be nice if she included draping technique.

  12. azcrop says:

Therapist can wear flat wedding band type rings. It is not felt by the client.

  13. LeggzSoLong says:

That statement is not true. Your heart is on your left side so therefore laying on your right side lets your heart lay against muscles to cushion it, getting more O2 to the heart and rest of body. The left side just pushes against your rib cage, crushing it. People should sleep that way too.

  15. dilm2008 says:

but you have to remove your ring ms. therapist.

  16. eriqita804410 says:

my doc n midwife said left is best because you get more oxygen. but either side is fine

  17. jkedwards4189 says:

I have heard that the left is the best, but my doctor has told me that the right side is fine, since I have incredible round ligament pain when I lay on my left side. I had the same issues on my first pregnancy and this one as well.

  18. hisgermansunshine says:

The power of touch is amazing, its no wonder they say massage your baby to calm it when its crying or for bed. I got all goosbumpy watching this.

  19. chidorigowoof says:

I’m just starting massage school, too. I’m definitely considering prenatal massage since it’s a very gentle and soft modality.

It may just look like it’s just rubbing lotion to some but anything more than just rubbing can cause problems for the mama and baby, especially in the legs, where there could be blood clots. S: This vid was real easy to follow. Great job!

  20. ceciliacakeface says:

yeah my doc says any side is fine but the left is the best,i sleep on both..im more comfy on my right but i switch during the night and wow this looks reallly nice,my turn! im def having the hubby watch this!!

  21. thtktgrl says:

I’m going to massage school right now, I don’t know exactly what I want to do with massage, but I’m considering prenatal massage

  22. NataliaCa82 says:

OMG! I almost fell asleep watching this video! Not because it was boring but because it look so damn good! I’m going to go get one ASAP!

  23. csmith0325 says:

Her body mechanics leave me feeling uncomfortable for her. The ring…well it’s thin enough that it wouldn’t be felt while using the strokes she’s using…sheesh…these comments are all so harsh! How about helping and nurturing and being a blessing to someone instead of tearing them down?!

  24. cas4040 says:

I am a nurse, and there is no side that pregnant women MUST lay on. Left side is preferred, but it is actually more important to switch between both sides. The left side relieves the vena cava the most, but you need to keep in mind skin integrity, and the musculoskeletal system as well.

  25. smoore5678 says:

@chieftain49 – My doctor said it doesn’t matter what side you lay on as long as you even it out. It feels better for me to lay on my right side and I’m 7 months pregnant. It depends on what makes the pregnant lady feel comfortable really
