Question by iDANCE: How early can you start having pregnancy symptoms?
I just need to know whats the earliest you can have pregnancy symptoms or feeling something going on in your body? I know its different for everyone but i need to know average. Ive heard two weeks but ive also heard you can get little things like cramps and lower back pains from your uterus getting prepared to carry a baby about the first week of conception……..
and what were your symptoms?

So I had sex last Friday, and this Friday, unprotected. And I want to take a home pregnancy test but I’ve heard that you need to wait until some point after your first missed period.
The thing is, my period is still irregular sometimes… so when should I take it? I mean, there’s an estimated time when I usually get it, but sometimes it’s not the same.
So when should I take it?

Read the pregnancy test box, it should say on there. If it comes up negative wait a couple more days and see what it says again.

I had sex on August 23rd, and then started my period two days later. Then I had sex on August 31st. We used a condom both times. My stomach has been hurting and whatnot though, so I want to take a pregnancy test just to sooth any worries I have. Since I just recently had my period, do I have to wait all the way up until I am about to start again/have a late period to check? My periods are usually irregular though, so there is no telling how long that will be. So even though I am not due for another period for awhile, can I go ahead and use a pregnancy test, and it still get a a result? Or, if I am pregnant, would it not show a positive result until I am closer to my period?
To the person who said I am too young, I am actually 20.

I am 30 wks. And I have had pelvic and back pain again(I had it in my first trimester it was stretching.) but not where I can’t really sleep cause I am never comfortable no more. This has been going on for about 1 wk now and I am in a pregnancy club and they say that dropping can mean (if first pregnancy)that you will deliver in about 2 to 4 wks.Could I be having this baby really soon. I feel him in my pelvic area.

The pregnancy club is on the internet babyzone.com they don’t have details but What ARE the main symptoms of dropping? where can I find info?Im not that worried and I am going to the doc its just I want to know what to expect.

I have a baby boy that is nearly 4 months old. I did have a period last month, January 18th start date. I missed this month and was about to go ahead and start birth control, but thought better take a pregnancy test to be sure. They have all come back positive.

So, I am just curious if I could get a false positive after giving birth back in November of 2008.

A girl I was with a week ago (July 2nd) tested positive on a pregnancy test in a clinic on July 9th. Not balieving the results she bought a Home pregnancy test at the dollar store and it too came back positive. Does the fact that the home test is able to detect her pregnancy rule me out as the father. Its been three weeks since her and her ex boyfriend did their thing.

I think I may be pregnant. My period isn’t due for 5 days, but the past two days my nipples have been hurting so badly to touch. It is painful. My nipples never hurt before like this. I had one day a few days ago with light cramping off and on, but I have been cramp free ever since. I feel bloated. Does that sound like pregnancy to you? What were your early symptoms? Thanks!

About a week before I found out I was pregnant I had very tender breasts and they were leaking (I recently stopped nursing) and I felt more tired than usual.

My husband got a new job and his new health insurance starts August 1st. I just found out I am pregnant six weeks along. My first appointment with the doctor is 8/10. Will we encounter problems with coverage for this pregnancy?

(I currently have health insurance through my employment, but his is better, which is why we are switching to his — my coverage through my employer ends 7/31)

Yes, pregnancy is considered a pre-existing condition when applying or switching insurance companies. Cobra is rather expensive, though you could possibly be picked up by your states medicaid. Medicaid is available for pregnancies.

Pregnant women, how did you keep your skin from being totally destroyed during pregnancy? Pregnancy is really really hard on my skin. With my first pregnancy, I literally looked like i had a skin disease all over my back neck and cheeks. This time around I am only 4-5 weeks and my skin is already breaking out. How can I treat my skin and keep it from looking so terrible?

I have no idea, I had the same problem!! Just wash your face and back regularly and be carefull what if any medications you use… including washes with sialic acid– which can cause birth defects. Avoid touching your face and greasy foods. Good luck

Have you thought about using a site like Facebook.

There you can make notes about your progress, post scan photos and make a list of items you’d love your friends to get for the baby.

My sister had twins two years ago and is still having trouble getting her stomach flat again. She has done a ton of crunches, but it hasn’t made a difference. She says that it feels like the muscles stick too far out when she is exercising. We’ve heard that these muscles can stretch away from the abdominal wall after a pregnancy. Is there a way to get her abs flat again without plastic surgery?

I think it’s somewhat of a myth that crunches will flatten your stomach (but it can’t hurt). I think a more well-rounded plan such as a combination of pilates and yoga will give you that look; however, I don’t think it will be ‘overnight’. Besides the sculpting effect, pilates and yoga have so many other healthy benefits. Strengthening your core through Pilates is sort of the groundwork for doing many other activities with added benefits. Yoga is just great for toning everything else.

I’m having a mild, but annoying pain in my lower right pelvic region. It doesn’t hurt terribly, but I just noticed it a good bit today and I’m in early pregnancy. Is this round ligament pain? Thank you!
I’m not doubled over in pain so I doubt it’s appendicitis But it feels more like a pulled muscle and it’s more in my pelvis than my abdomen.

I think it’s by the hip bones, (that’s where I get mine) sometimes when I get up too quick or lift my legs too high I get a sharp stabbing pain… starts at different time’s for everyone, depending on how big baby is I think

I’m 5’2″ and I weigh 121 lbs. When I look it the mirror it looks like my tummy is already starting to get bigger and I’m only 5 weeks! With my first pregnancy I weighed 143 starting out, but I didn’t really even start to look a little pregnant until 7 months. Am I getting bigger sooner with this pregnancy? I’ve heard you do with your second, but I wanted to know your input.

I’d like to know when you started showing with your first and second pregnancies. Also, if you don’t mind can you tell if you were skinny, average, a little chubby, or whatever else during the pregnancies? Thank you so much ladies!

I’m very tall and thin…but managed to hide it for nearly 20 weeks for my first preg and 14 weeks for #2. Naked, I showed earlier. However, my sister showed before her pregnancy test was positive. Depends on the person.

I have a horrible fear of flying. Usually, everytime I fly I take some Xanax to calm my nerves. That is really the only way I can fly without having an increased heart rate, sweaty palms, shaking, etc. I have to fly for Thanksgiving. I wil be 13 1/2 weeks when I fly. Does anyone know of any ways I can calm my anxiety while flying that is safe for pregnancy? I know it’s not healthy to be that nervous while I am pregnant and really want to do something to ease my anxiety. Thanks.

Vitamin e does wonders! For spotting too, my sister broke out in a rash and dry skin and she used Palmers coca butter oil and it worked!

Nope, sorry. If you didn’t want to become pregnant, you should have used birth control or taken the Plan B within 72 hours of having sex.
