Forum Theatre on Maternal and Infant Mortality in Uganda
On January 17, 2011, this forum theatre piece was performed for about 100 people in Budondo village, Uganda. The purpose was to assess interest in starting a Women’s Reproductive Health Center to serve Budondo and 8 neighboring villages. The PROJECTED OUTCOME of the health center is accessible and affordable health services, improved nutritional intervention for children and mothers, guidance and counseling services, and reduced maternal mortality, infant mortality and neonatal mortality rates. OUR STORY is about a pregnant woman whose husband required her to work in the garden even when it seemed she would give birth anytime. When labor pains started the husband had gone drinking and when he came back he did not take mind about her until her children took her to a local birth attendant, who was inexperienced. The local birth attendant kept on giving her herbs to drink with the hope that if the woman delivered, she would earn money and also recognition as an experienced birth attendant. When she finally realized that the woman could not deliver and that her condition was deteriorating, it was too late. On the journey to hospital, which was 20 km away, the woman died. This is a situation that was familiar in all the villages. AFTER THE PRESENTATION of the Forum Theatre play, audience members were invited to step in to the action to try out new strategies. This is a video of my wife Tiffany who is 9 months pregnant! She had just gotten her hair cut earlier that day and decided to get bangs. Well later that night she was taking off a headband and it looked like she had a mullet! So, she put a raisin on her tooth, I grabbed the camera and…well..you can see what happened next. We also have a few funny clips we took that night while she was in her “Oakie” character with her saying some hilarious things such as “Well butter my butt and call me biscuit” music info: Dueling Banjos” was arranged and performed for the movie by Eric Weissberg and Steve Mandell and was included on the soundtrack album.[3] The song had been composed in 1955 by Arthur Smith as a banjo instrumental he called “Feudin’ Banjos”.

Labor and Delivery of Landon
Labor began October 29, 2010 at around 3:30 PM. (38 weeks 6 days pregnant) Landon was born on November 1, 2010 at 3:40 PM weighing 7lbs. and 19 3/4 in. long. 72 hours of labor, 3 hours of pushing, needed forceps, got through it all with no pain medication.
