This is me and my fiance’s baby 33 weeks ultrasound. Being 33 weeks, it is now 2230 grams in weight (nearly 5 pounds), large head, steady heartbeat (as shown on Doppler), and an astonishingly well defined face. With a growth percentile of 50, he is in the absolute dead-on best weight/size ratio. This is probably our last ultrasound for this pregnancy – the delivery is due in late July. Hope it was informative and helpful for someone! Recorded on DVD from a GE ultrasound equipment.

This is the photo montage I have created, to document the pregnancy and home birth of my fourth child and first son, Wyatt James. While I was pregnant with him, and even before, I received so much courage and inspiration by watching others’ home birth video’s. It is my hope that others will enjoy the photo montage video that I have created too! My first three children, all girls, were done through traditional doctors and they were all born at the hospital with epidurals to block out the labor and birth pain. Although I wouldn’t say I had “bad” experiences with any of my girls’ births, knowing what I know now and having experienced it one time, I likely would have chosen to do a home birth with them if I could do it over again. I loved being able to make as much noise as I wanted, get in positions that felt right and also surround myself with those who I felt totally supported home birth. Having a home birth was so very empowering to me as a woman, I totally loved my experience! Thanks for letting me share just a tiny bit of it with the world! *edited January 25, 2011* For anyone in the general public or associated with youtube, I did receive express permission from the musicians along with their blessing and love, to use their music as a background in my birth video. In fact, they told me to add their names to the title so that it would be viewed by even more. No worries, people!! It’s all good! ![]()

Just an update on how my prenatal appointment went and my thoughts and opinion on this doctor. Advice and support is welcomed! =) After I made this video I found a link with a lot of surprising information in it. My doctor either didn’t know or lied to me because 42.5% of twins are both head down at the time of delivery, 26% have one baby head down and the other baby breech, and only 6% of babies are still both breech. Definitely worth looking at! www.multiplebirth.com

This 3D medical animation of shoulder dystocia in a newborn shows a vaginal delivery with the uterus removed for greater visibility of the brachial plexus in the neck and shoulder area of the fetus. As the baby is pushed through the mother’s pelvic outlet during labor, we see the infant’s shoulder being trapped beneath the mother’s pelvic bone (pubic symphysis) causing the nerves of the brachial plexus to be stretched and injured. This form of brachial plexus injury is called neuropraxia, and may result in symptoms including a limp or paralyzed arm; lack of muscle control in the arm, hand, or wrist; and lack of feeling or sensation in the arm or hand.
