Question by Baby Girl: What are the first month signs of pregnancy?
My friend thinks she may be pregnant. She says it was 3 weeks ago when she had sex, so she wants to know what are the first month signs? How can she tell if she is without getting a pregnancy test?
and when do you start showing?
also keep in mind she’s 14.

Sore breasts, a little nauseous — sometimes even a little bit of vaginal discharge. I also always used to get this strange tight feeling behind my belly button. Best to just take a pregnancy test. They’re pretty darn accurate, and I even had one work VERY positively before I even missed my period.

The only symptom I had was a missed period. Didn’t experience heartburn till I was almost 5 months pregnant. Hope that helps.

This wasn’t a mistake. We took her to the breeder about 10 days ago and just got her back 3 days ago. She has been acting really sleepy. Is it too soon for her to show signs of pregnancy? And what are some other signs and how soon will we see them?

One of the most reliable signs- watching to see if her vulva stays slightly swollen. if it stays larger than usual, the breeding probably took. Your vet can manually feel for pups to confirm pregnancy 25-30 after breeding- stud owner should be able to tell you when they first tied…not sure why the process took a week at the stud’s house.

If this is your regular cycle then it’s 32 days long. When you have a 32 day cycle your ovulation period will usually on cycle day 18.. Since your CD1 was last Jan 6th then your ovulation period was on the 24th..So your chances of getting pregnant is pretty high coz you had sex during the days around your ovulation period.

It’s too early for you to take the test on 6DPO so wait till your menstrual period and test if you’re pregnant. It’s not right to assume that the butterfly feeling in your stomach can be attributed to pregnancy.

You realize you’re just putting more stress on your parents, right? Because you have school and someone is going to have to take care of the baby. Congrats, I’m sure they are so proud of you. Children shouldn’t be having children!!

This ticks me off because my parents were 25 when they got married and had children. They couldn’t even handle it! My sisters and I spent our lives depending on other to get what we need. WE HAD NOTHING. Almost everyday we struggled with not even knowing what we were going to eat or IF there was anything! Life was super stressful and here you are pulling this crap!! Children should come into a HAPPY life not a STRESSFUL one. And I promise, if you have a baby now it will be extremely hard and stressful. A 14 year old can’t possibly have a good enough job to raise a child. And your parents don’t deserve to be having to raise someone else’s child because they made a STUPID decision such as this. You obviously need to grow up.

I thought about being nice and answering this question but I’ll let someone else do that. I pray that you aren’t pregnant.

My husband got a new job and his new health insurance starts August 1st. I just found out I am pregnant six weeks along. My first appointment with the doctor is 8/10. Will we encounter problems with coverage for this pregnancy?

(I currently have health insurance through my employment, but his is better, which is why we are switching to his — my coverage through my employer ends 7/31)

Yes, pregnancy is considered a pre-existing condition when applying or switching insurance companies. Cobra is rather expensive, though you could possibly be picked up by your states medicaid. Medicaid is available for pregnancies.

Pregnant women, how did you keep your skin from being totally destroyed during pregnancy? Pregnancy is really really hard on my skin. With my first pregnancy, I literally looked like i had a skin disease all over my back neck and cheeks. This time around I am only 4-5 weeks and my skin is already breaking out. How can I treat my skin and keep it from looking so terrible?

I have no idea, I had the same problem!! Just wash your face and back regularly and be carefull what if any medications you use… including washes with sialic acid– which can cause birth defects. Avoid touching your face and greasy foods. Good luck

I answer questions I’ve been asked about being/getting pregnant and having gastric bypass surgery and having PCOS **Sorry, the sound is out of sync** 1) How soon after surgery can I get pregnant? 2) Was your pregnancy effected by your gastric bypass? 3) Did you take the glucose test? 4) Was your delivery effected by the surgery? 5) Special Diet? *I forgot to mention that I did start eating carbs when I got pregnant. 1- because I was now on a maintenance phase in terms of weight loss and 2- because a developing baby NEEDS complex carbs. So I incorporated whole wheat carbs. 6) How much weight did you gain? 7) Did you have trouble losing weight after you gave birth? Did you have any trouble breast feeding? 9) Has my PCOS improved since the surgery? *I wasn’t clear, I do believe my PCOS has really improved. I have normal cycles/flow now. 10) When did you start to show? If you have any other questions, please let me know. There are other post-op ladies who have had successful pregnancies after having gastric bypass, if they watch this video and want to chime in, I welcome it. ) I don’t want to put their business out there tho so I won’t mention them by name unless they say it’s ok.

A rat is pregnant for about 3 weeks & often you won’t notice anything until the 3rd week. Occasionally there are no obvious signs until you wake up & hear the pups squeaking. However, sometimes you’ll notice that your rat’s nipples seem more prominent or there is less fur around them. During the final week of pregnancy, mama rat will often become bigger around the middle. She *may* sleep more often, or become especially interested in nest building.

If you suspect you rat may be pregnant, give her some extra nesting material if she doesn’t already have plenty. We give our rats paper towels for nesting. As always, make sure she’s got lots of good food & water available but offer her a bit of boiled egg for extra protein. If she doesn’t have an igloo or nest box, give her 1. A tissue box is fine.

Try to keep mama rat from getting stressed. This isn’t a good time to introduce her to your friends or have a lot of activity near the cage. You can interact with her though, of course. If she has a female companion, you can leave them together as long as they get along well & there’s plenty of room in the cage. After the pups are born, you can gently handle them as soon as you’re comfortable doing so, unlike hamster or mouse babies.

Good luck with your rat, whether or not she’s “expecting.”

Have you thought about using a site like Facebook.

There you can make notes about your progress, post scan photos and make a list of items you’d love your friends to get for the baby.
